Bob Stephen founded Hollywell in August 1993, having worked for Serco and British Aerospace in earlier years and served an indentured apprenticeship as an electrician from the age of 16 before going on to study Building Services Engineering at degree level.
Currently Managing Director of Hollywell Building Services Limited, he is responsible for overall business management and development.
He is committed to first class delivery on all Hollywell projects and works closely with clients to ensure that the Hollywell team exceed expectations.
Bob is a keen aquarist, with a marine reef tank and a Koi pond and has a strong interest in good food and better wine!
Nigel Ilott joined Bob at Hollywell Building Services in September 2000 and has been heavily involved in the expansion and success of the company ever since.
Nigel’s background prior to joining Hollywell had always been in Civils and Utility installation works and business development. Currently he is responsible for overseeing the GTR maintenance contract. Nigel also plays a major role in the delivery of all Hollywell project works including any tendering. He is also involved in the business development alongside Bob Stephen.
Nigel has always been a team player and believes in this ethos when delivering projects on behalf of all our clients.
Outside of work a keen family man who enjoys a round of golf and the 19th hole.
Since Joining Hollywell in June 2007 Martin McMahon has worked primarily within project management and recently as operations director. He is a senior manager with considerable experience in the building industry since the age of 16 within areas such as, but not limited to, site operative, health and safety, Project Management and operations management.
Following an apprenticeship for heating, gas and plumbing engineering Martin went on to work with a Stevenage company, ‘Cussen and Sons’, with 4 years in the field as a gas engineer/plumber/pipefitter and welder followed by 13 years as a project manager .
Martin project managed the installation and assisted with all stages in the design of the mechanical services at the conversion of County Hall on the south bank into 500 luxury residential flats and the conversion of The Shell Downstream Building into 680 luxury residential flats.
Since joining Hollywell, Martin’s role has developed from Project Management to now also including overall monitoring and reporting on company progress, development and performance.
Along with others, Martin continues to drive systems development to best suit the business and to deliver the client requirements. He also works with the HSQE team and all staff on the ongoing development of the IMS whilst also assisting in training, support and advice to all staff and sub-contractors.
Martin has a passion to be a key part for the ongoing and future structured growth of the company and all its employees and to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction is delivered at all times.
Outside of work Martin enjoys most sports and socialising with all that will listen to him. Martin doesn’t enjoy the gym but has to go anyway until the doctor tells him otherwise.
An early career in darts saw Martin (age 17) beat Keith Deller in the London open of 1983 (the year Keith Deller was world champion) and went on to other notable wins over Eric Bristow, Peter Manley, Peter Evison, Allan Glazer and Dave lee to name just a few. The good old days.
Bob Chapman has worked as HSQE Manager for Hollywell for 15 years. He is a senior manager with considerable experience in health and safety, operations management, and Project Management
Previous roles included seven years as National Facilities and Health and Safety Manager for a large, global, corporate stationer, six years with major facilities management organisation Serco and an early career with leading practice of consulting engineers Oscar Faber.
Bob has a key role within Hollywell heading up a dedicated HSQE team to ensure compliance across the business, maintenance of accreditations, production of contract documentation, training, auditing, support and advice to staff and sub contractors at all levels.
As well as numerous other qualifications, Bob holds an MSc in Safety, Health and Environment and an honours degree in building services engineering.
Bob is a people person, able to relate to individuals at all levels whilst working within the senior management team to drive policy and support all other functions the business. Working with groups and individuals to develop understanding and knowledge of all relevant issues Bob has succeeded in developing an open and inclusive culture that supports successful delivery of all company aims.
Outside of work Bob is a sociable person who loves sport and rock music. The socialising tends to mark him out as a spectator rather than a participant.
Theresa Eaton has been with Hollywell for almost two years in the capacity of Financial Controller. Theresa heads up the finance team within Hollywell and in the past couple of years has implemented structural changes to the financial reporting, allowing the senior management team to make more informed business decisions. Theresa has also overseen improvements to procurement as well as improving key financial processes and sees the role as one that is constantly changing and moving forward.
Theresa first qualified as an ACCA accountant in 1997 working in practice in St Albans. Since then she has held key positions within companies in the Financial Services, Pharmaceuticals, Leisure and Retailing sectors and perhaps most significantly in the House Building Sector for both Kier Residential and Taylor Wimpey among others.
Theresa has a keen interest in property and all things related to the building industry and housing design. She has accrued a large amount of knowledge within the building services sphere that she is able to apply to her work with Hollywell and really enjoys keeping up to date with the often fast-paced landscape where Hollywell operates.
Theresa’s ultimate dream is to build her own home one day. In the meantime she is able to combine her admiration for French wine with a search for a property in the Languedoc area of South West France. Combined, these two passions have often led to enthusiasm for properties that are tempered in the cold light of the next day when the reality of the work needed hits home – but this has not dented her hope that the right property is waiting for her, she just hasn’t quite found it yet.
Gary Morris first worked in the construction industry for his family business which mainly carried out office and housing refurbishment works from 1978 to 1992.
After this, Gary joined Gleeson / MCL construction based in Welham Green, Herts as a Project Manager running rail depot maintenance and Construction projects up to £200k for London Underground.
In 2006, Gary wanted another challenge and joined Hollywell Building Services as a project manager managing projects for Royal Mail and Romec. As Hollywell has grown his role has changed and has seen Gary involved much more with tendering for contracts and compiling relevant information, labour, materials and programming for the contracts to commence which has made his role now largely office based.
Gary’s clients at Hollywell now include c2c, Vinci and The Royal Parks which involves the refurbishment to Royal Lodges, Cafes and Public Conveniences. Gary is also actively involved in station refurbishments and new construction works for Govia Thameslink Railway.
Gary enjoys the challenge of taking a project from conception and completion and working with a team.
Outside of Hollywell, Gary is a social person who enjoys holidays, sport, films and reading.
Facilities Maintenance Manager
Marc Keating has a solid engineering and management background, having served his City & Guilds Mechanical engineering apprenticeship with HJ Heinz.
Marc went on to work for various companies including: Guinness GB, CNIM Escalators, Lorne Stewart, Integral, and Intu Properties PLC, taking on the challenges of various roles as an engineer, Contracts Supervisor, Maintenance Manager, Technical Services Manager, FM and Operations Manager over a 38-year career.
He is currently the Facilities Maintenance Manager at Hollywell Building Services responsible for the continuous and successful delivery of the Abellio East Anglia Rail Contract.
Marc is a Boxing Coach and still enjoys teaching along with training himself. He is also a keen supporter of West Ham United and often spends his weekends watching them whether it is win, lose or draw. Also a keen fisherman but his successes at fishing are a bit like his football teams success, rare!
Harry Brownsell has worked at Hollywell since 2014. He has worked in electrical services for over 15 years, completing an electrical apprenticeship from the age of 16.
He additionally taught at West Herts College for two years, running evening classes for adult learners before joining Hollywell, where he is the lead NICEIC QS and is in charge of overseeing electrical works. Though he covers a variety of contracts Harry’s main role is the M&E Contracts Manager for Abellio East Anglia.
Harry is currently finishing his final year of an Executive MBA with Hertfordshire University, and is committed to using the knowledge gained throughout to further develop the business. He is an engaging person with a positive outlook, with a keen work ethic and enjoys assisting in the training and development of others.
Away from work Harry enjoys many hobbies some of which he gets time to do, such as; cycling, snowboarding, shooting, rock climbing, and attempting to play music, currently violin, saxophone, and harmonica. Though Harry may enjoy playing music, this does not mean people enjoy listening to it.
Charlotte Stephen was promoted to Help Desk Manager after working as a help desk operator covering various different contracts for over 2 years at Hollywell.
She is currently overseeing the GTR contracts and significantly involved with client communication across a number key areas. Charlotte is also responsible for the the planning and execution of monthly meetings, periodic reporting and producing monthly applications.
As well as her help desk managing duties Charlotte is also involved in the tendering and managing of larger projects within the business.
Charlotte graduated from university with a BSc Hons in Fashion Communication and Promotion which allows her to bring a fresh perspective to promoting the Hollywell brand.
Charlotte is always laughing and a massive dog lover. Whilst away travelling in South East Asia recently, she volunteered at a dog shelter in Thailand. Remarkably she managed to find her way back to Hollywell!
Lynne Saich-Whitaker began working for Hollywell in April 2017 and is the HR Manager for the company, responsible for the research and development of HR processes along with the management of the company’s HR. Lynne completed the Level 5 CIPD diploma in Human Resources Management in December 2018.
Lynne is committed to managing HR in a professional, ethical and just manner in order to ensure she has the confidence of all levels of staff.
Enjoying adventures and an animal lover, Lynne can often be found either hurtling down a zip wire or fussing over dogs that don’t belong to her – she’s waiting for retirement to get her own but she does have a very playful little fluffy cat who is more like a puppy!
